GLENDALE, CA – An Amazon delivery driver has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting multiple victims while making deliveries across Southern California, police announced.
Fernando Barreto-Hernandez, 24, of Los Angeles, was identified as the suspect in at least two sexual assault cases, according to the Glendale Police Department. Authorities believe there may be additional victims.
The most recent incident occurred on Jan. 21 near Brand Boulevard and Chevy Chase Drive in Glendale, where a woman was sexually assaulted by Barreto-Hernandez while he was delivering packages, police said.
Investigators later connected Barreto-Hernandez to a December 2024 assault in Los Angeles, in which he allegedly attacked an underage female while working as a delivery driver. He was initially arrested for that case on Jan. 24 but was released.
Following a Feb. 21 court hearing, Barreto-Hernandez was taken into custody again, this time for the Glendale assault. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has since filed felony and misdemeanor charges in both cases. The suspect was later released on bond.
Barreto-Hernandez has been employed by Amazon, Amazon Flex, and FedEx, raising concerns about his access to victims.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or additional victims to contact the Glendale Police Assaults Unit at 818-548-3106.
