President Trump told reporters he hasn’t considered granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20 year sentence for sex trafficking. He said he couldn’t discuss clemency while the Justice Department’s interviews with her were ongoing. Maxwell recently completed a second meeting with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, during which she answered roughly 100 questions; her attorney emphasized that there were no requests or promises. Maxwell is appealing her conviction, arguing that a plea agreement protecting Jeffrey Epstein’s associates should also shield her. Her lawyer added that she would welcome any relief the government might offer.
