A group of La Jolla residents, organized under the name Save La Jolla Bike Path, is actively opposing plans to install 5G cell towers in their community. The group cites concerns about potential radiation exposure and its impact on public health.
This opposition is not the first of its kind in La Jolla. Approximately five months ago, parents and students from Stella Maris Academy protested against a proposed 5G tower near their school, expressing similar health-related apprehensions.
The debate over 5G infrastructure has been ongoing, with proponents highlighting the technology’s benefits for connectivity and economic growth, while opponents raise questions about potential health risks and the aesthetic impact on neighborhoods.
