San Diego is expanding Mission Trails Regional Park with the acquisition of 15 acres of land. The city purchased two parcels for $431,500 from a private seller to preserve as open space. The new addition is located north of State Route 52 and west of Interstate 15.
This expansion supports San Diego’s Multiple Species Conservation Program, which aims to protect threatened and endangered wildlife. With this latest acquisition, Mission Trails Regional Park now exceeds 8,000 acres, further strengthening its role as a key recreational and environmental space for the region.
