If you live in California you may be able to receive a voucher for thousands of dollars to go toward the purchase of an e-bike.

The California E-bike Incentive Program began accepting applications on December 18, focusing on members of under-served communities. The organizers behind the program said that their goal is to “make environmentally-friendly transportation accessible and affordable to all.”

The “base incentive voucher” takes care of $1,750 at the point of purchase, with an additional $250 available to priority applicants.

To apply, California residents must be over the age of 18, and verify that their household income has been less than $45,180 for an individual, $61, 320 for a family of two, and $93,600 for a family of four. The project’s website has a full breakdown of the program’s information.
