Los Angeles, California – What should have been a routine Mother’s Day delivery turned into a stomach-turning shock for two Woodland Hills families after their security cameras captured an Amazon delivery driver using their front porches as a bathroom.

Video footage submitted to KTLA shows the same female Amazon driver involved in two separate incidents early Sunday morning. In the first video, the woman is seen walking up the stairs of a home to deliver a package, only to squat moments later and defecate on the porch. A wet stain and a soiled paper towel were visible near the feces, according to the homeowner.

After KTLA aired the initial footage, another family came forward with similar security camera video. This time, the driver entered through a wooden gate, dropped off a package, and urinated on the homeowner’s brick walkway. The footage, timestamped at 6:06 a.m., shows the woman glancing directly into the Ring camera as she relieved herself.

Amazon responded swiftly to the reports. In a statement to KTLA, the company said: “We’re deeply disturbed by the unacceptable behavior of this delivery driver and apologize to the customers involved. We immediately identified the driver and they are no longer delivering on behalf of Amazon.”

While the driver’s actions have been widely condemned, the incident also shines a spotlight on the harsh working conditions many Amazon delivery drivers face.

Amazon relies heavily on third-party contractors for its package deliveries, distancing itself from direct employment obligations. Drivers are often subjected to intense delivery quotas and 14-hour shifts. Many report not being allowed to return undelivered packages, pushing them to complete their routes under extreme time pressure. As a result, drivers frequently resort to relieving themselves in plastic bottles — or worse — because breaks are neither scheduled nor feasible without risking job performance metrics.

Labor advocates have long criticized Amazon’s use of subcontracted Delivery Service Providers (DSPs), which makes it harder for drivers to organize and fight for better working conditions. Bonuses tied to route completion rates incentivize speed over sanity, often to the detriment of worker dignity and community standards.

“This is what happens when people are treated like machines,” said one Los Angeles labor organizer who declined to be named. “What that woman did was unacceptable — but so is a system that leaves her feeling like that’s her only option.”

Both families involved say they want an apology and some assurance that something like this won’t happen again. For now, Amazon’s public relations team is doing damage control, while the incident adds to growing scrutiny of how the tech giant treats its workforce.
