Oceanside, California – Get ready, Oceanside — the world’s top women athletes are heading to the coast this fall for a brand-new, action-packed sporting event that promises to redefine competition and celebration in women’s sports.

From Tuesday, October 28 to Sunday, November 2, the SI Women’s Games will debut at the Frontwave Arena, turning the beachside city into the epicenter of global athletic excellence. This weeklong invitational will feature Team Americas going head-to-head with Team World in a Ryder Cup-style format — with bragging rights, prize money, and sporting glory all on the line.

The Sports Illustrated Women’s Games will include a dynamic mix of basketball, gymnastics, tennis, flag football, volleyball, and combat sports. This is not just a competition; it’s a high-octane celebration of skill, strength, and women’s rising influence in the world of sports.

“The SI Women’s Games are a groundbreaking opportunity to do what we have always done at Sports Illustrated — tell the best stories in sports,” said Steve Cannella, Editor in Chief of Sports Illustrated. “We can’t wait to watch these incredible athletes compete in California and celebrate everything they do, both on and off the field.”

And fans won’t have to miss a moment. Thanks to a multiyear broadcast partnership with Scripps Sports, every nightly competition will be aired live on ION, giving viewers across the U.S. front-row access to the action. According to Brian Lawlor, president of Scripps Sports, this partnership marks a milestone in the growing movement to spotlight women’s sports.

“We’re proud to partner with Sports Illustrated, one of the most iconic brands in sports,” Lawlor said. “The SI Women’s Games will bring compelling stories, elite athletes, and world-class events to every American household. This is a huge step forward for Scripps Sports and ION as premier destinations for the best in women’s sports.”

The SI Women’s Games promise fierce competition, unforgettable moments, and inspiring narratives that transcend the field of play. With global athletes, national pride, and trailblazing sports on display, this fall’s competition could become one of the defining sporting events of the year.

Ticket information, player rosters, and the full schedule of events will be announced in the coming months. Fans should keep their eyes on SI.com/WomensGames for all the latest updates.

Whether you’re cheering for Team Americas or Team World, one thing is sure — Oceanside is about to become the world’s ultimate arena for women’s sports. Let the games begin!
