Southern California is gearing up another wild week of weather, with forecasters predicting above average temperatures. Following two months of wind, storms, and fire, the region is prepping for extreme conditions. Temperatures are expected to climb as much as 20 degrees above normal by midweek.
The Weather Service reports that coastal and valley areas, with the exception of beach locations, can expect afternoon highs to reach the 80s and lower 90s. Monday’s temperatures are already above normal, but the most intense heat is anticipated for Wednesday.
In addition to the heat, forecasters warn of gusty winds, which may reach advisory levels late Tuesday into Wednesday. As the high-pressure system begins to move eastward on Thursday, a cooling trend is expected to set in, gradually tempering the week’s scorching temperatures.
Residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions to make sure they keep safe during this unseasonably warm week.
