Amazon has announced plans to hire more than 2,000 new employees throughout Southern California. The e-commerce giant is expanding its workforce to meet growing demand in the region. Positions are available across various departments, including operations, logistics, and customer service.
The company opened two inbound cross-dock facilities in Fontana and Jurupa Valley. The company said on Tuesday:
These new inbound cross docks are designed to receive and prepare goods for Amazon’s fulfillment centers. Similar to distribution centers, they play a crucial role in quickly moving goods through Amazon’s logistics network, enhancing efficiency in the supply chain.
Paul Granillo, President and CEO of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership applauded the announcement, stating:
Amazon’s investment in the Inland Empire, bringing over 2,000 new jobs, is a significant boost to our local economy. This initiative provides valuable employment opportunities with competitive wages and benefits. We’re excited about the positive impact this will have on our workforce and the broader community.
