U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) appears to be ramping up operations in San Diego County, leaving migrant communities on edge in the wake of former President Donald Trump’s renewed push for mass deportations.
Over the weekend, multiple videos shared on social media captured ICE agents conducting operations at apartment complexes in North County. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in San Diego also released images appearing to show its agents assisting in the apprehension of migrants.
It remains unclear whether arrests were made during these interactions. However, officials at MCAS Miramar confirmed that at least two military aircraft departed from the base for deportation-related missions.
